I can’t even believe I’m about to say this but guys it’s April 1st this weekend! It must be the weather feeling like we’ve been in the depths of winter for ages now, but it’s time to transition into Spring mode!! Wahoo. April 1st doesn’t just mark the beginning of Raincouver, it’s also April’s Fool’s Day, a day known for pulling practical jokes on your friends, family, colleagues and significant others, which can be the most fun.
We all know a sense of humour is important in any relationship, so why not keep your SO laughing by sharing in the fun? Luckily I have a few hilarious ideas that you can play on your significant other that are completely harmless and nothing but fun. But you might want to watch your back at the office and at home after they find out how easy it is to prank you. No one is safe on April Fools’ Day.
1. Fake A Frozen iPhone
Nothing ruins a day faster than a broken phone. Make your hubby sweat by taking a screen shot of their homescreen and dragging all of their icons off the first page. Change the wallpaper to the homescreen pic and watch him work himself into a panic!
2. Coffee, two salts one cream
If your loved one dumps sugar into their morning coffee, swap out the contents of your sugar bowl with the salt shaker and watch them take a nauseating first few sips!
3. Change the clocks
Put your boo in a stone cold sweat by changing the clocks a few hours ahead. Set their alarms (don’t make them late for anything!) and watch them have a temporary freak out when they’ve realized they’ve overslept!
4. Hidden Underpants
Hide the contents of your S.O’s underwear drawer and leave notes with a joke “clue” to lead them to their delicates!
5. Screw with his Shortcut
Find their computer or phone’s shortcuts or custom dictionary and change the first few letters of their commonly used phrases and make the shortcut word or sentence whatever you want! He goes to type “How’s it going” and ends up with “My girlfriend/boyfriend is the MASTER of April Fool’s Day!”
And once your SO forgives you after giving them a slight heart attack you can check out one of these events together that are happening over the weekend.

One of my favourite and most beautiful festivals in the city starts this week, the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival and its a sign spring is actually coming!!! The festival makes it easy to enjoy tens of thousands of blossoms and a ton of themed events with an explosion of around 41,000 blossoming trees. There are over 2,100 cherry blossom locations in the city, talk about Instagram worthy opps!! From blush pinks to pure snow white, about 50 different cultivars of flowering cherry trees are coming into bloom. For a full interactive map click here.
