As we now ditch the patios for our living rooms, we are in search of the best things to do inside with friends. There is always wine, great beer and conversation, but there is nothing like a hilarious board game to bring people together and get the giggles going.
There is something about board and card games that never gets old. As we grow up we constantly think back to our childhoods (remember that kid from 15, maybe 20 years ago) and what better way to do that then with some bevvies and a great game. I have hosted a couple games nights before so this isn’t my first rodeo. Here are my five favorite games for this Fall, that you should definitely play at your next games night or even after a great dinner with a couple friends.
1. Cards Against Humanity
OBVIOUSLY, it wouldn’t be a great games night without Cards Against Humanity. If you haven’t heard of this it is a card game where you are supposed to fill in the blank statements using, some would say, very risqué or inappropriate phrases. I can guarantee this game will make you cry with laughter!
2. Codename Picture
Are you fascinated with being a secret agent? Well ladies and gentlemen, I have the game for you. As cheesy as it sounds, this game is all about contacting your teams spy master and completing challenges before the other team. Don’t worry this is not a game for kids, and watch out it can get very competitive.
3. Last Word
Warning, this game can get very animated. Last Word is all about shouting out as many words as you can based on the specific guidelines. Everyone in the circle gets a turn and meanwhile the buzzer is ticking! The goal of the game is to be the last person to get a word in before the buzzer. Pretty self explanatory but crazy fun.
Roots is a game combining Suffix and Prefix cards to create new words. The player who can come up with the best explanation for their new word wins that subject card. I am constantly making up new words and hoping people don’t call me out on it, so this is definitely one of my favourites.
5. Most Likely Too
This game is a lot of fun with a big group of people that you know somewhat well. Each card you pick up has a saying on it, for example, “Most likely to wake up with a burrito in bed”. Then each player has to point at who they think is ‘most likely too’ and the person with the most people pointing at them gets the card. This game has the reputation for a lot of laughing, yelling and some explaining….
I hope I have inspired you to host the next games night with your besties!!
