Today is Let’sTalk day, a very important campaign in support of mental health initiatives and awareness. Over the past few years there has been less and less of a stigma around mental health, but it can still be hard for some to talk about.
I’ve had my struggles with mental health and depression and I know I’m not alone. I think we all have a dark place in our heads where we go from time to time, and it is okay to go there once and a while, but if starts to be too much, if you feel stuck in that dark place, talk to someone. I have been trapped in the cycle of self-loathing, thinking no one would understand it if I asked for help, or even worse , that they might judge me. They might think I’m weak. They didn’t. They won’t. It’s okay to ask for help, some things are a lot easier when you have an ally.
